Electric Bell Pull
The front door bell pull is synonymous with larger Georgian and Victorian properties, making a real period front door statement. Unless you already have a working one with the cabling and bell, it's not always easy to install another one.
Sometime ago a customer asked us to come up with a solution, they had an existing bell pull they wanted to keep but didn't have the room for the cable or the bell. We supplied a small box that converted the manual 'pull' so it can be connected to a 12v wired electrical chime. Since then, we've done a quite few, sometimes we have one for sale, but most are custom made.

This example was for a customer to go inside a handily positioned cupboard, the cable from the back of the pull goes round the blanking pulley, into the cupboard & connected to the loop on the outside of the box & the two wires from the 12v chime connected to the terminals on the box. The pull also needed a bit of restoration, another service we offer.
.
They're powered & wired the same as a normal 12v electric bell push, normally there's a standard transformer like this between the consumer box and the front door bell. If you have an existing electric bell push, you should be able to replace it for a pull & just connect your existing wires to the converter box.
Wireless Front Door Bell Pulls
It is possible to make them wireless, Byron make a product that will work with a range of their door bell chimes.
