A fantastic quality reproduction Victorian antique nickel beehive escutcheon, this one has an antique finish over the unlacquered nickel. Traditionally most doors had a rim lock or latch on one side, escutcheons were used on the other side to cover the key hole and also act a drought excluder. Manufactured using original Victorian patterns, the escutcheon is un lacquered so will tarnish down in the traditional way (can also be polished).
